We are planning to launch a survey in November 2021, which will be designed following the completion of pilot interviews. The aim of the survey is to collect responses from the following groups:
- 500 deaf students with various types of deafness/hearing loss, socio-cultural and geographic backgrounds;
- 100 academics;
- 40 support staff/BSL interpreters/notetakers
The survey will ask participants questions on a number of topics, including: their background, the impact of COVID-19 on their experiences as a deaf student, online
teaching, accessibility and support and university guidelines on deaf students.
Results will be included in the research project report and will influence the design of guidance documents, recommendations, best practices, tips and workshops.
